Thanatology / Grief Counselling
Thanatology is the study of bereavement, grief and loss. Karen offers a wealth of life experiences which include her own losses, death and non-death. Throughout your sessions, Karen, our Thanatologist, will journey alongside you as you grieve. She will bear witness to your pain in a non-judgemental, secure and safe environment. Much of the work in grief counselling involves educating, validating, empathizing, normalizing, guiding, while providing unconditional support. In your grief journey with Karen, she will provide empathetic listening along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Complicated/Prolonged Grief treatments. She will companion you without trying to fix or eliminate the grief but rather help integrate, accept and make new meaning in your life.
